Cirdan’s Pioneering Developments on Display at Smart Nano Showcase

Last Wednesday 12th June, Cirdan’s Imaging team had the pleasure of participating in a showcase event at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB), joining our Smart Nano consortium partners for an impressive exhibition.

The event gathered the entire Smart Nano consortium at QUB, providing a platform to showcase the groundbreaking work each company has been undertaking as part of the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)-funded Smart Nano project. This showcase allowed UKRI to witness firsthand the remarkable progress and innovations of our consortium members, highlighting how Cirdan’s contributions will shape the future of imaging technology. Cirdan’s objective within the consortium is to revolutionise cancer treatment by creating the next generation of imaging products utilising both photonics and smart nano manufacturing.

Cirdan proudly presented PathLite+, a cutting-edge macro imaging system for pathology labs, which has been re-engineered and relaunched as result of the Smart Nano project. Additionally, our team showcased remarkable advancements in AI development, featuring state-of-the-art models for image translation and virtual staining of unstained tissue. The team also gave a sneak peek into our new Smart Nano product, currently in development, which employs computational image reconstruction for microscopic imaging.

Overall, the exhibition was a tremendous success, earning exceptional feedback from the showcase organisers. The UKRI team was highly impressed with the displays from Cirdan and our consortium partners.

We are thrilled to have been part of such a successful event, demonstrating the powerful collaboration within our consortium and the strides being made in photonics for medical imaging and cancer treatment. We are excited to continue presenting our pioneering work alongside our incredible Smart Nano partners, driving forward the future of healthcare.
